BrainPOP: Citing Sources

Activity #1
  1. Navigate to the BrainPOP site by clicking the link in the left sidebar.
  2. Search for the video titled Citing Sources.
  3. Log into BrainPOP using the username and password provided in class.
  4. Watch the Citing Sources video. You may watch this video multiple times if needed.
  5. Take the "Graded Quiz" after watching the video. Print your quiz results to the printer labeled LS Library Copier on ases3. If you do not see this printer in your printer panel, let a librarian know; we will add it for you.
  6. Review your answers for the quiz after printing and before going on to the next part of the activity.
  7. Complete the "Vocabulary" activity found in the "Activities" section. Watch the video again before beginning this activity if needed. Print your completed activity to the same printer.
  8. Log off completely.
  9. Browse and check out.

Activity #2
  1. Return to the BrainPOP video //Citing Sources// . Log in to BrainPOP using the username and password provided in class. You are welcome to watch the video again if you like.
  2. Navigate to the Experiment and Q&A sections and read the information found there.
  3. Navigate to the FYI section and read the information found under Personalities and In Practice.
  4. Click on the Discussion tab above and click + New Post.
  5. Using the subject "Plagiarism" for your post, explain one specific way that a sixth grader could unknowingly plagiarize in their school work. Use the knowledge you acquired through reading the above sections. Do NOT plagiarize the answers of other students. Your post must be your own original thoughts and must be a minimum of 30 words in length.
